After that break we plan to begin re-populating with all our updated wood products we've been working on all this time. Screens, Cores, Flumes, Dice, and some new stuff as well.
We're going to use the remaining pine we used for this last pledge delivery and then move on to standardize on poplar, alder and other tighter grain softwoods, and core hardwoods of cherry, oak and walnut.
We'll still be happy to work in more exotic woods but we're going to make a shift to a more sustainable, efficient and environmentally responsible way of doing business. We currently operate at around 10% to 15% waste and we're working to cut that down to 5%. This will mean being selective about what woods we offer, how are designs are manufactured and what we consider acceptable when it comes to natural wood defects, repairs, and other things that can mean the difference between a "perfect" product and a solid, well-made functional "flawed" one. We'll have more details about this moving forward.
Accessories for all products will be available individually and our sales will focus around a core product where base functionality is provided with the initial purchase and then you can add to it later or as you choose to provide the best custom experience. Additionally we'll have "complete" sets in each product area so if you just what everything available in that product you can get it all at once.
And finally each of the products individual components will be available so you can "build from scratch" however you choose.
They'll be a small price break for buying whole sets of things, but it won't be prohibitive and will reflect the time it takes to make and sell individual items instead of sets which typically sell faster.
