Latest Updates from Our Project:

Keep V2 and Tower V1.5 + Tower / Keep Trays
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 07, 2017 at 09:23:07 PM

I think these pics speak for themselves so I'm just going to post and let you have a look.

The big news is that the Keep is now in V2 and has room for 3x5 notecards in its drawers and trays. The trays for the TOWER now stow in the KEEP and there's lots of cool options for stowage and configuration and interaction between the two.

Thanks for all your support.

Lets get another backer and put this campaign to 50!

Want to freestand your TOWER... no problem. Magnet the two TOWER TRAYS onto it and you're set.

Got the tower out of the picture but just need a rolling surface or tray? Use one or both trays together, poof, you're set. Trays will come leather lined.

Just want the tower and no trays... at least for a time? No problem. Trays stow in the Keep like they were meant to.,.. oh yea.. they are.

The new keep stores 3x5 notecards in its drawers comfortably.. and for BIGGER items... just remove the drawers and make them big item shelves.

Attach the tower to anything you want. Between screen panels, to the KEEP or all by itself. Attach a tray or live dangerously.

I did mention that the drawers and trays store 3x5 cards nicely didn't I?

 Thanks everyone!

Your support keeps me going and feeds my family.

You make my life possible.

Please share this campaign with anyone in the market for a GM screen. Even if they may think they've seen the best there is... they may not have seen ours.

(Which is the best... lol... one of the best)

Thanks everyone!

The Great Wall....
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 07, 2017 at 06:09:40 PM

Its the words I used to start this campaign, and its really starting to feel like it.

I've completed 5 unique panels for this Dice Base: Master Screen system and I want show them to you here.

All five current panels. Each with its own use, its own Easter Eggs, and its own set of flexible options that you control.
All five current panels. Each with its own use, its own Easter Eggs, and its own set of flexible options that you control.

Left to right the panels shown above are:

  • Character and Map Panel
  • Portal Panel
  • Reflection Pool Panel
  • The CLIFFS (of insanity) Panel
  • Dice and FLUME Panel

These five panels are all built around these common elements.

1. 28 common and opposite polarity magnets in complimentary positions around the perimeter and inside of the panels. Some external magnetic force is usable externally as well.

2. The ability to clam shell to store and transport either general or specific tools. Some panels are universal and can work with any other panel, some require specific matched panels for full functionality.

3. On their perimeter, all panels are interchangeable in horizontal or vertical orientations with all other panels and can be connected directly or using our chrome steel hinge balls.

Map and Character

The simplest, but also the most compatible.
The simplest, but also the most compatible.

An interior cut-out allows whiteboard, paper, map and character sheets to be inserted and afixed using either steel, magnets, or our ZucatiCorp wood frames. You decide what works best for you. Inset cut is .44 deep so two together can store dice, trays, or a whole big pile of paper.

The Portal Panel

The Portal Panel. Integrated Awesome! Allows use of the phrase... ..."put your hand in there..."
The Portal Panel. Integrated Awesome! Allows use of the phrase... ..."put your hand in there..."

This was something that I've wanted, like forever. Designed in-house from scratch this panel and its mechanism are a ZucatiCorp exclusive. (The Iris is an old concept but this implementation is not). The design allows for a large number of viewing and pas-though interactions that can only occur with this type of panel. Its smooth an easy to operate and adds that distinct sex apeal to the system that would be lacking without it.

The Reflection Pool

The Reflection Pool. Just what your portal needs.
The Reflection Pool. Just what your portal needs.

This panel is designed to clam shell with the Portal and allow the mechanism of The PORTAL to nest nicely inside it while also allowing for transport of dice and other tools around and beside the Iris when traveling.

The CLIFFS (Of Insanity!)

Oh yea.. stow and go... and then DEPLOY for AWESOME!
Oh yea.. stow and go... and then DEPLOY for AWESOME!

Ok, maybe a bit too much "Princess Bride" but seriously, this panel is awesome. Not just because it stores it's own shelves, or because it allows transport of stuff in its empty pockets, but because of the total flexibility it adds to the Dice Base: Master Screen system as a whole. If you don't get this panel, you'll regret it. Seriously. The shelves work on all other panels. They allow the use of so many different things I'm not even going to try and list them here... but just look at the pics for some of the stuff they hold... (combined with the PORTAL it makes an super trick viewing ledge.. you'll see what I'm talking about... )

I'm adding a few pics of this panel in action and interaction because I just have to.

Pencils, pens, and a lot of them. Right within reach, pretty much anywhere.

Deceptively HUGE capacity for minatures, toys, tokens dice, or whatever.... on each shelf, er CLIFF!

Use the shelves on ALL PANELS! You're in control.

Need to get you phone out of the way... sure, but why not have it ready to use and enjoy too!

Combine with the PORTAL and you've got a VIEWING PORTAL!

And when you ready to pack up and go home.. or just stow the panel away.. it all stows nicely inside itself. While still leaving room for more.
And when you ready to pack up and go home.. or just stow the panel away.. it all stows nicely inside itself. While still leaving room for more.

Ok, seriously... if there's one panel you buy.. The CLIFFS should be it.

Dice and FLUME

This is one of the first panels I designed... and its one of the core.
This is one of the first panels I designed... and its one of the core.

Part of the heart of this system. Carries your FLUME, your dice, your hinges and whatever else you can throw at it....
Provides a rolling surface, or 4. A bullent board, a sticky note surface and many other features I'll let you discover I've added just for GM's.

So, there you have it...

5 panels designed to work together to form whatever you want to make of them... and remember, this is before you've added in your KEEP or TOWER....

Thanks everyone... I've got at least one more panel in the works, possibly two for this campaign... If they don't get released here... they'll be along between now and when these all ship as part of my ZucatiCorp.com store offerings.

Thanks so much for your support.

There Can Be Only ONE! Get the exact GM Screen setup you want.
about 7 years ago – Mon, Feb 06, 2017 at 07:46:31 AM

I've added a new pledge level for $25.

There is no reward attached to this level, but the $25 will carry over into the BackerKit tool I use post-campaign and be available for use to purchase all of the campaign items at that time.

Unlike the $1 pledge level, which will not be offered any add-ins or additional options post-campaign, this new $25 level will be given access to EVERYTHING.

Same prices - Same woods - Same items - Same accessories and add-ins with your $25 pledge ready to spend and get you started picking out your perfect system.

All post-campaign items will be offered ala carte and individually. Pick and choose a single screen, a single tray, a single tower or multiples based on your need and the system you want to setup.

I'll be available to help put together the perfect system if you need help, or you can go it all on your own, whatever works best for you.

You commit to $25 worth of backing support for ZucatiCorp and ZucatiCorp will make it very easy to find something you can smile about for $25 or more.

Once again. Our entire product catalog including the entire Dice Base System, All the player  and GM accessories and all of this campaigns GM panels, keeps, towers and add-ins will be available.

Thanks again everyone!

Now more choice is yours that ever before.

First Beta version complete.

Some final tweaking to be done but this is more or less how the Portal Panel will look:

Its bigger, its smoother, and its shown here in Alder with a matching Alder panel.

Only the portal can keep the power contained.

PORTAL PANEL

What? Portal did you say... no, I said: The PORTAL panel!

So what is the PORTAL panel?

It is the place from where all evil springs, the dark inky black where the unknown meets reality, that mystical aperture where fact and fantasy merge and become legend.

Behold!
(From the GM's view)

Say those lights really set the mood don't they?

 From the Player's view:

Are those runes GLOWING? Nice!

Wait, what's that coming OUT of the portal, is that a DRAGON! RUN!

I mean it... now!
I mean it... now!

What's that, how fast can I run... I just have to be faster than you.
What's that, how fast can I run... I just have to be faster than you.

And last but not least, a quick demo of the very prototype mechanism working... I wanted to get this prototyped and shown asap, so I fudged some numbers in the programming of the portal... but rest assured... it will all seal as it should before it ever leaves my shop. This is a rough proof of concept to give my backers the look and feel of my concept... by not means is this finished. (ever try to program an Iris from scratch? Its harder than it looks)

I give you the most terrifying thing of all coming through the portal.. avert your eyes...

Locked out with nobody home... awww..
